Vitalik Buterin has a new project! 💎🤲

It’s called VitaDAO — a new DAO that is launching to fund longevity biotech research.

The first piece of evidence that he’s the speakeasy leader is his Twitter: his pinned tweet says how he is excited about life extension, the link in his bio is the “Fable of the Dragon Tyrant”, a story about aging — how it’s like a tyrant and how we should defeat it. He tweeted so many times about this.

Vitalik donated over $340 million to longevity-focused research organizations (SENS Research Foundation and Methuselah Foundation).

Then, he had an AMA on VitaDAO’s Youtube channel with.. none other than Aubrey de Grey, the icon of the longevity industry, cofounder of SENS Research and Scientific Advisor to his DAO. They talked about how Vitalik is on board with the anti-aging crusade because he read Aubrey’s book, Ending Aging when he was young, and how best Vitalik and the crypto crowd can help the longevity industry.

Basically, the most important people in both industries are doing a joint venture.

Recently WHO declared aging a disease, creating a momentum wave for longevity research and companies. A lot of billionaires are getting into this, like Larry Page (with Google’s Calico), Jeff Bezos, Larry Ellison, Peter Thiel, Jim Mellon, Bill Maris, Sam Altman, papa Chamath, Charles Hoskinson etc so this seems like a good time to get in.

I think Vitalik cares about this probably just as much as Ethereum. Will Vita(lik)DAO be the next big thing?
